CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics)

CFD can apply to fuelcell for improvement in performance and efficient design. In the case of PEMFC, CFD is useful to make flow field design which minimizes water management problem. However, it is impossible to simulate the water removal process at channel. Therefore, the application of CFD to model PEMFC is limited. Since the fuel processor and SOFC have no two phase flow unlike PEMFC, the CFD analysis is more faithful. From the mathematical modeling of fuel processor and SOFC, performance and temperature distribution can be predicted.

 

System dynamics simulation

The performance and dynamics of fuelcell is dependent on the system organization. For this reason the system dynamics simulation is necessary to commercialize fuelcell systems. NECS Lab. especially is interested in the SOFC system combined with fuel processor. In addition, combined system dynamics modelling has already completed and will be improved.
